For a spouse who passed away in 2023 you would be able to file as Married Filing Jointly on the 2023 tax return.
For tax year 2024, if you have not remarried or have a dependent child, you file your 2024 tax return as Single.
You should create a new account with a new User ID since you can no longer file as Married Filing Jointly with your spouse.
