Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Don't enter zeros for your 1095-A entries.  If you have a zero leave that space blank. You may have to delete your Form 1095-A and reenter it. I have provided the instructions below.

You can also try clearing your cache and cookies, going out of the program and coming back in, or deleting the form and reentering it, to see if that helps.

When there is no amount (zero) in columns B and C of the Form 1095-A, this means that you did not receive any advance payments of the premium tax credit (APTC). This generally occurs when the Marketplace determines you are ineligible for the premium tax credit at enrollment because your income was outside of the eligibility range or if you declined to receive APTC instead preferring to claim the credit on your return.

If you are entering Column B, and have a zero, you may have an error on your Form 1095-A.

Column B contains information about your "second lowest cost silver plan" (SLCSP) premium.

If column B. in Part III "Coverage Information" has a $0 or is blank for any month someone in your household had coverage from the marketplace, this is likely an error.

If you think this is the case you can use  the tax tool from Healthcare.gov to determine the premium for your SLCSP.  If the number is not correct, it will provide a  wrong calculation of your premium tax credit.

The amount in column C can be zero if you didn't take a monthly subsidy to help pay for your health insurance premiums. If you did get a monthly subsidy to help pay for your health insurance premiums, enter the monthly amount in column C.

If you have questions about your Premium Tax Credit (PTC) or Form 1095-A, you should contact your Marketplace directly.

You can also call the IRS Healthcare Hotline for ACA questions at 800-919-0452.
