Your health insurance through Wellwould be considered private insurance, however if it was received through the Healthcare Marketplace, you would have recieved a Form 1095-A that you must report on your Federal Tax income tax return.
While there no longer is a federal requirement for private health insurance, some states, including California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the District of Columbia, have individual mandates requiring residents to have health insurance or face penalties.
If your Wellpoint coverage was purchased through Healthcare.gov or your state's health insurance marketplace ( Wellpoint does offer health insurance through the Marketplace) you will need to enter your Form 1095-A into TurboTax.

Here's how to enter your 1095-A in TurboTax:
- Open your return.
- Click on the search icon at the top right of your screen.
- Type "1095-A" in the search box
- Click on the link "Jump to 1095-A"
- Answer "yes" to "Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?
- Select "Continue"
- Enter your information on the screen "Let's get the info from your 1095-A Form"
NOTE: You should leave the boxes blank. Do not enter a zero in the boxes when entering your Form 1095-A.
