If you are using the Desktop installed program you get 1 free state program download. Did you already use the free state for a different state? Extra (different) state programs are 45. Then it is $25 to efile each state return EXCEPT New York is free to efile.
In the Online version you pay a separate fee to prepare a state return whether you efile or print and mail it. Currently state is $59.
