As Xmasbaby0 mentions above, you are not required to have a drivers license or state ID to e-file your tax return. If your state requires additional identification, you may have to print and mail your state tax return. You can get information about your state's requirement by contacting your state's Department of Revenue. To use TurboTax Live, you will need a support ID. To get a Support ID, visit our Contact us page and then call TurboTax directly at the phone number that is provided.
If you need to verify your identity you can use any government-issued ID that includes a photograph, such as a driver's license, passport, or state identification card.
TurboTax will ask about your issue and then give you a Support ID.
