Get your taxes done using TurboTax

You say you "made over $2500."  You must earn at least $2500 to get the additional child tax credit, but earning just over $2500 does not mean you will get the full refundable amount of up to $1700 per child.  It is based on the amount OVER $2500 that you earned.

Take the amount you earned from working.   Subtract $2500 from that.   Take what is left and multiply by 15%  That is the additional child tax credit per child you get that will end up on line 28 of your Form 1040.
