Wow, very interestng....So far, that appears to be a function only for the "Online" software. I haven't found it anywhere on the Desktop software (yet).

Yes, you do need to review those imported documents anyhow....not that those providers would be wrong, BUT if you have any Muni Bond income showing in box 12 of a 1099-DIV, or box 8 of a 1099-INT form, you will need to indicate whether it came from (usually) "Multiple States" , or if you want, to indicate what sub-portion of the tax exempt $$ came from you own state or any US territories. That information is not delineated in the imported data. (Of course, if you live in Plano TX, then that doesn't apply to you since you don't have state income taxes, BUT you would need to select "Multiple States" for all of it anyhow)
If you buy any bonds during the year, where you paid accrued interest for the bond, then there may be some special step you need to take to report that too...but that's beyond the subject of this post.
