Not all W-2's will have information in box 18. There would only be entries there if your locality (town or city) has additional taxes withheld and taxes are withheld for that locality.
Check your W-2 entries to make sure there is nothing entered for boxes 18, 19 or 20.
You can also try deleting your Form W-2 and reentering it if the problem persists.
You will be able to edit your W-2 entries if necessary as follows:
If you are using TurboTax Online/Mobile: you can use this link W-2, or you can:
- Open your return.
- Go to "wages and income"
- Under W-2's select "Add/Edit" next to your W-2 that you need to edit. (See the screenshots below for additional guidance)
If you are using TurboTax Desktop:
- 1. Open your return
- 2. In the Search bar, enter "W-2" and select the "Jump to" link. This will take you to your W-2 entries
- 3. Select the (down) caret next to your W-2 and then select "Edit" (See screenshot below for additional guidance)
