Would I be able to create an account for my minor child or do I need to use my account?
So if the child is under 16 the efile option is not available and the return needs to be mailed in? Can my child sign it with my as 3rd party or is it best I sign it using the child sign language?
You create an account for the child using the online editions. You only need to create a new account with a new User ID and you can use your email address for the account. Go to this TurboTax website and click on Sign up - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/file-your-own-taxes/

- If you're filing a return for a minor child who cannot sign the return, sign the child's name followed by the word "by," then your signature, and your relationship, such as "parent" or "guardian for minor child."
