Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Sorry--no one at TurboTax can check this for you.  We have no access to user accounts or information.    If someone else claimed the child, and they filed first, then the next e-filed return using the child's Social Security number will be rejected.   If/when that happens, the person who CAN claim the child should go ahead claim the child and file by mail.   The IRS will investigate and sort out who could rightfully claim the child as a dependent.  The person who claimed the child fraudulently or incorrectly will face re-payment of any child-related credits and perhaps penalties.

One way to prevent this going forward is get an IP PIN for the child.
