@Drwho92 My own advice not to rush does not stem from a lack of awareness that many people need that money badly. I get it. But we see way too many horrible stories from the people who hurry to file early in January and are still waiting for their refunds in August, November......or still in the next year.....because their hastily filed returns were full of mistakes, or went under review by the IRS, or were flagged for identity verification....etc etc. etc. Sometimes--not always--but often enough---filing early to get a quick refund has the completely opposite result of causing people to wait for months. I personally hate to see that happen to people so I suggest waiting. And....if you are getting earned income credit or additional child tax credit, the IRS will not pay out your refund until the end of February----so rushing does not get you a quicker refund.
