The stimulus payments were sent for 2020 and 2021. It is too late for you to seek the one from 2020---the deadline for that was on May 17, 2024. If you should have received it for two children who you could claim as your dependents for 2021, you can file a 2021 return and use the recovery rebate credit to seek the payment. BUT----we have no understanding of your situation. You are saying you had "custody" of the children, but apparently you are not the bio-parent. Please explain further---we cannot determine if you could have been eligible for the stimulus payments for those children.
