Why are Seniors being charged for filing State returns when TurboTax never charged before?
Hello! I have used TurboTax for a number of years, without any fees and without any problems. I am a Senior on Medicare, Medicaid, energy assistance, food assistance and dental assistance, and I certainly do not have $69 to pay to file to the State of Wisconsin to get my Homestead Credit so I can pay for my property taxes! Do we have any other choices in this regard? I was going to file today, have a doctor appointment tomorrow, but will try again to file on Wednesday. If TurboTax can't help, I'll check with TaxAct, as I used them a long time ago; if they can't help, I guess I'll just have to download blank forms and do my best (and my "best" isn't very good)! Thank you for any information you might be able to provide!! From Susan in Wisconsin
(P.S. I don't know what "Free Edition Plus" is ... might it pertain to me? I just don't have the $ to pay anything!)
