But to add something in case other users look to this thread for help----it is not required for you to enter a driver's license in order to e-file a federal tax return. The software asks for a driver's license or state-issued ID in order to add an extra layer of security for you, but the IRS does not require that you enter those. You can skip entering the driver's license and still e-file your federal return without one. There are a few states that are picky about e-filing unless you have a state ID, so if you are trying to e-file in one of those very "picky" states, you might end up needing to file the state return by mail if the state will not accept your ID.
