Get your taxes done using TurboTax
When the 2022 tax return was rejected in 2023 you received an email from TurboTax which has the rejection code and rejection message from the IRS.
Most e-file rejections from the IRS are due to the prior year AGI entered on the tax return. Since a 2022 tax return can no longer be e-filed, the 2021AGI is not used.
You will need to print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed tax return all forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Along with the Form 1040 include all forms and schedules which have an Attachment Sequence Number located in the upper right corner of the form or schedule.
Go to this IRS website for the mailing address, by state, with and without a payment - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment
There are no penalties for filing a tax return with a tax refund after the due date of the tax return.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
