Get your taxes done using TurboTax
@tselvig You do not get a W-2 for unemployment. The state that paid the unemployment to you issues a 1099G to you. Some states mail them to you but in most cases you are supposed to go to the state's unemployment website and use the same user ID/password that you used to certify for the benefits to get the 1099G for yourself.
Did you prepare your tax return without entering the unemployment you received? Unemployment is taxable income on a federal return and might be taxable in your state, depending on what state you are in.
You could get your 1099G and amend your returns to see if the results of entering the 1099G are the same as the amount the IRS is saying that you owe.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-a...
Enter your 1099G in Federal>Wages & Income>Unemployment
Go through the screens very carefully, making sure to enter any federal/state tax you had withheld from the unemployment.
Most states with a state income tax do tax unemployment benefits
AL, CA, DC, NH, NJ, and PA do not tax unemployment
