Turbo Tax is looking for me to add a six digit pin all pins from last year and the open I got from the IRS are 5 digits. Please help me

In the File section of the program you are asked to enter a 5 digit PIN which can be any 5 numbers you select.  Along with the 2022 AGI that you enter from your 2022 Federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 11, these are used for your electronic signature when e-filing.

If your 2023 e-filed tax return was rejected by the IRS for not having a a 6 digit Identity Protection PIN and you never applied for nor received a 6 digit IP PIN from the IRS then you will have to print and mail your tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for how to print a tax return when using the online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/print-mail-return-turb...

You should also contact the IRS and speak to an agent to find out why the IRS is requesting an IP PIN that you never applied for nor received from the IRS.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
