First, you should complete the entry of both your husband's and the rest of your families information. This will help with assigning forms and amounts to each person.
It sound like you want to focus on stock transactions.
To post investments:
- Sign into TurboTax
- Select Work on other (Income/Deductions)
- There is a Sidebar to the left
- Under Federal
- Select Wages & Income
- This will give a list of income options for you to choose from.
- Scroll down to Investments and Savings (1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-K, Crypto) - Select it
- Depending on what you've done you may see different screens
- If you've already entered some transactions you can Add investments
- You may see Let's import your tax info
- Or you can choose [Enter a different way] I suggest you use this
- You will se a panel of 5 boxes
- Select the top right Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds - Continue
- Now enter Which bank or brokerage is on your 1099‑B? - Continue
- Answer the 4 questions - Continue
- Select either Sales Section Totals or One by One Continue
- Follow the interview.
