If you are using the TurboTax Deluxe desktop CD/Download edition you can report both your income and expenses for self-employment using that edition. So it will accept a 179 deduction.
Just a note though, when going through the program and you are entering your SE income and expenses the program will recommend that you upgrade to the Home & Business Edition. That is Only a recommendation and is Not required.
