That is odd. Did you enter him in My Info? Did you enter his Social Security number? Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. What did you choose when it asked how many months he lived with you? There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
Sometimes it helps to just delete the child and then go back to My Info and re-enter them and go through all the interview screens again.
And...when you say you are the "custodial" parent----do you have a signed agreement with the other parent? How did you answer the question about that?
