Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Where is it saying you can't claim him?  Claim him as a dependent or for a particular credit? Is TurboTax saying you can't claim him or are you being rejected?

If TurboTax is saying you can't claim him, go back through the personal info section and be sure you have answered all the questions accurately including did he provide more than half of his own support.  These answers will all make a difference.

If you are being rejected then is it possible that the other parent already filed and claimed him?  If so, you will need to paper mail your return and the IRS will decide who gets to claim him.  If you are the custodial parent and he lives with you more than half the year, this would likely end up being you that gets to claim him, however, it will take several months to process your paper return and get things sorted out.
