If you came to this country to
live for the first time in March of 2018, you will not be penalized for January-
March. To enter your information so you are exempt from the penalty take the
following steps in TurboTax:
- Click Federal
- Click Health Insurance
- Select I'll pick and choose which months
- Click Continue
- Select
the Months you had insurance and
click continue
- Select Resident of a foreign country or US territory
- Click Continue
- You will
get a message saying your penalty has been waived for those months you
were not a resident.
