Fidelity Import - 1099B vs Supplemental
Hello!
I am not sure if this is a Fidelity issue for 2023, I'm hoping someone has had the same and can assist.
My Fidelity import is the detailed Supplemental Info instead of the 1099B 'summary' of batches by date.
For this particular stock, I also have RSA's. I get the Cost basis for the RSA on this supplemental. For the remaining transactions this typically ties to the 1099B ST Reported to IRS once I exclude the RSA's.
My 'Not reported 1099B' of course typically does not tie due to the adj cost I have to enter.
This year for this stock, the Cost Basis on the Supplemental (in TT) is Higher by 12K, the Wash Sales by 9K, Net Loss by the (12K). I was able to find the day but not transaction for 3K difference in Wash per 1099B less is reported I have to assume certain portions in that day are allowed. Does that sound right, or should it be by specific transaction?
Total for all transactions per the Supplemental - Proceeds tie, Cost Basis Higher by 12K, Wash Sales 9K, Net Gain is Less by the (3K).
My other main question is, why would these differ this year and do I need to make TT match the 'Reported to IRS' 1099B or leave it with the supplemental info that imported?
