When you use this software ---and I assume when you use sprintax----the information flows from the federal return to the state return. You cannot use the TT software for a "stand alone" state return. You can see if you are able to use the state's tax web site to prepare a state return. State tax laws vary, so I am not sure whether your NRA status would be an obstacle to using the state's site or not.
