Those are 2 different Pins used for 2 entirely different purposes. Only the IRS can get you the IP Pin - not everyone has this; only certain taxpayers. The other pin is a 5 digit number (self-select pin) you made up last year - you can use last year's AGI if you don't remember the 5 digit pin you used last year - you only need one of those numbers to e-file. For identification purposes, you need to enter either last year’s Self-Select PIN 95 digit) or adjusted gross income (AGI). No one at TurboTax has access to either pin number. @CREMSE
The Self-Select PIN is a random five-digit number that you enter as your electronic signature when e-filing your return.
