Get your taxes done using TurboTax
The 1040-V is a voucher form you send when you mail your payment. If you do not owe anything, you will not mail anything if you e-filed your amended return.
Did you have taxes withheld on the 1099-B? Generally, adding income without additional taxes withheld would result in more taxes due. If you did not have taxes withheld, double check to be sure you are getting $6 back and its not that you actually owe $6. You can see this on line 20 (amount you owe) or 22 (refund) of your 1040X.
If the $6 is showing on line 22, then you can just disregard the 1040V as there is no reason to mail it to the IRS.
If you did not e-file your return, then you would print and mail it following the instructions on the instructions page again, disregarding the 1040V if you are showing a refund on line 22 of your 1040X.
If the amount is on line 20, then you would include it and mail to the address listed on the instructions along with your payment.
