Get your taxes done using TurboTax
No. It is not a typo. “2021 Form 1040, 10” refers to line 10 of 2021 Form 6251 which directs you (for 2022) to:
Add Form 1040 or 1040-SR, line 16 (minus any tax from Form 4972), and Schedule 2 (Form 1040), line 2.
Subtract from the result Schedule 3 (Form 1040), line 1, and any negative amount reported on Form 8978, line 14 (treated as a positive number). If zero or less, enter -0-. If you used Schedule J to figure your tax on Form 1040 or 1.
If your adjusted gross income is $38,553 and you have none of the adjustments listed on the help screen then you do not have AMT.
The AMT exemption for 2022 tax is $75,900 for individuals, $59,050 for married couples filing separately, and $118,100 for married couples filing jointly or qualifying widow(er).
