Where did you enter the 1099?  Was it a 1099R that you received? Did you enter it as a W2 instead of a 1099R?

If so, Click the following to enter your 1099-R:

  • Federal
  • Wages and Income
  • Scroll down and click Show More next to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • Start next to IRA, 401K, Pension Plans (1099-R)

You will need to then go to your income summary page and click delete next to the W2 that shows.  This will remove the W2 error.

If this was a 1095 to report Medicare, then you would not need to enter that form on your return.

If this was a 1095-A for insurance you received through the Marketplace select the following:

  • Deductions and Credits
  • Show more next to Medical
  • Start or Revisit next to ACA
  • Answer YES to did you receive a 1095-A
  • Enter your 1095-A
