You do not need to enter a FEIN if you type in your U.S. Savings Bond interest yourself.
- Type interest in Search in the upper right
- Select Jump to interest
- Say YES to Did you have investment income in 2022?
- Continue past Get ready to be impressed
- On Let’s import your tax info go to the bottom and select Enter a different way
- On OK, let's start with one investment type, select Interest, then Continue
- On How do you want to enter your 1099-INT, select Type it in myself
- On Let’s get the info from your 1099-INT enter U.S. Treasury as the payer
- Enter your interest in Box 3
- When you get to the screen "Your investments and savings" delete your other entry
