One thing that requires Deluxe with he Online software, is "Itemized" deductions.
One way to not bump into that situation is to not enter any Home Mortgage information, nor Property taxes, Nor Personal Property taxes (Car , boat registrations), nor any charitable contributions.
But once you get into Hone Energy credits, or College Student Credits,
& Scholarships.....you may be stuck with the upgrade.
