When you’re done entering all your income and deductions, and are ready to file, you’ll enter last year’s AGI (from the joint return, even though it was for both spouses) into a screen in the “file” section of TurboTax. (Here’s a discussion about that.)
The screen where you enter the AGI is pretty straightforward (and you can’t miss it). Getting the number itself is the part of the process that sometimes turns into a little headache. It’s easier f you used TurboTax last year, but the link has some info that should be helpful if you didn’t, or if there are other unusual circumstances.
