@farqm We are at a disadvantage since you are posting in a thread that has posts from multiple users already.  We cannot tell what software you are using---it does not show up here. 

 

But I am going to take a wild guess and  ask if you started out in Free Edition and entered some retirement that was deducted from your W-2 that is giving you the retirement savers credit.   If that is what is happening, You can clear it and start over,

then  you can tell the software that you are a student.  Students are not eligible for that credit, so you will get out of the upgrade to a paid version of the software --- you will of course, not get that little credit.

 

Or....you can use one of the other software programs on the IRS site to file for free
