Unless you are in the business of lending money you do NOT need to issue a 1099. What you both should have is an amortization worksheet showing how much of each payment is interest and an annual total. You also need their name, address and SS# or EIN for your Sch B and they need your info for their Sch A if this was a personal residence or a Sch C if this was a business property.
