Online allows 5 BUT
For Online you must create an entirely separate userID account & password for each one filed...and pay the full software fees for each one filed (same price whether e-filed or mail-filed on paper).
Of course, if any of those accounts can use the "Free" version, those wouldn't be charged in that account.
....BUT #2, you have to carefully write down and maintain the account username and password for each one if you choose to go that route. (and some are surprised that a file that started in "Free" has to be upgraded to a pay version due to some detail in that tax situation that requires a higher paid version.)
Those Desktops Folks who move to the "Online" version are usually disappointed that there is no "Forms" mode with the Online software.
