FYI ... the notice says you "MAY" be eligible for the EIC not that you "ARE" and the IRS could be wrong in the generic note they sent. So you will need to use the amendment process to see if you are indeed eligible for that credit.
Be aware that all the credits are triggered by the information entered by the user so when you use the amendment process review all the entries in the MY INFO section concerning the kids and the EIC section in the credits tab.
