How do I enter my crypto in TurboTax?

There are three ways to enter your crypto in TurboTax:

How to import your crypto

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Go to cryptocurrency.
  3. On the Did you have investment income in 2025? screen, select Yes.
    1. Select +Add investments if you've already added some investment income info.
  4. On the Let’s import your tax info screen, search for and select your crypto exchange.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions closely. You'll have to sign in to your exchange account to import your transactions.
    • If your exchange doesn't support importing, you can add your transactions by uploading a CSV.
    • Note: Imports can take up to 3 minutes to complete.
  6. We'll ask you a few more questions before taking you to the investment overview screen. Select Review to go over the imported info and verify that it's accurate.

How to enter your crypto manually in TurboTax Online

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Go to cryptocurrency.
  3. On the Did you have investment income in 2025? screen, select Yes.
    1. Select +Add investments if you've already added some investment income info.
  4. On the Let’s import your tax info screen, select Enter a different way.
  5. On the OK, let's start with one investment type screen, select Cryptocurrency and Continue.
  6. Select Type it in myself on the Select your crypto experience screen.
  7. Answer the questions and continue through the screens. We’ll walk you through entering your sales.

How to enter your crypto manually in TurboTax Desktop

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes, then Wages & Income.
  3. On the Your 2025 Income Summary screen, under Investment Income, select Start or Update next to Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.
  4. On the Did you sell any investments in 2025? screen, select Yes.
  5. Answer the questions and continue through the screens.
