Closed account still says open

Hi!

I was curious about why my mountain crest credit union account still says open when it was closed when I refinanced my car through BECU? Why does it say open? When/will it eventually say closed?

I got a car loan through Mountain crest credit union in August. Then I refinanced that loan through BECU and have been making car payments to BECU.

Some clarity on this would be great

Hi Kimber,

You do not mention when you refinanced, or when the original loan was paid off by the BECU re-finance. So giving any feedback will be difficult.

If you're using the vehicle as collateral for the loan, then you should give it at least 90 days to show as paid. The title has to be transferred from the original credit union that you used in August, to BECU where you refinanced it. This can take some time, especially if the refinance has recently occurred.
