Selecting the LLC over the AOC

In education credits, TT selects the AOC but I want it to use the LLC instead. My child is eligible for both. I read in several places to type letme into the search box. Unfortunately, the search box does not accept text and automatically opens a TT Assistant, which provides three choices, none of which has anything to do with education credits.

The search box is tricky this season, once opened, you need to x-out to get to the "Jump to" links.

What TurboTax program are you using and is it Online or Desktop?

Type letme (no space between let & me) in the search box. Then press enter. Then  click  on the link "jump to letme''.

TT will give you the option to select another tuition  credit or deduction.

If that doesn't work:

Type letme (no space between let & me) in the search box. When the dropdown list appears, click on letme rather than "jump to letme'. On the next drop down, click on the "jump to letme” link.

TT will give you the option to select another tuition  credit

Thank you for the response. I am using the desktop version. When I X out of the search box, it closes. To recap, when I click on the search box it opens a TT digital assistant. The assistant offers the option of typing a question or opening a form. There is no place to type a question. When I X out, the digital assistant closes.

When you click on SEARCH in the upper right you either get the Turbo Tax Digital Assistant or the Turbo Tax Help box depending if you are signed in. I have gotten the Jump to links using both ways.  In the Desktop program you can sign in or sign out of your account under FILE on the top menu.

If you are signed in it will say Signed in as [name] under File. SEARCH will open the Digital Assistant like a chat box. Go to the bottom and type your search then click the send arrow on the right side.

If you are signed out, it will say Sign in under File. The SEARCH box will ask you to sign in. If you get a window asking you to sign in, don't sign in.  Click the X in the top right corner to get rid of the sign in window. Then you will have the Search box where you enter your search at the top of the box.
