My 1098T form is incorrect

It is very important that the 1098-T be correct because you may be taxed on the income that is calculated on the incorrect 1098-T.  You must contact the Bursar's office of the college that you attended, in 2016 and tell them about the mistake and have them re-issue a correct 1098-T so that you can do your tax return accurately.

I've been in discussions with the Bursar's office and they say they cannot amend the form. They say it will be corrected by the next years form. However; the incorrect form is adding a pretty big scholarship income
