You should leave Box 10 blank. Box 10 is an optional box on Form 1098. Some mortgage services use it to report real estate taxes disbursed from escrow.
You indicate that your Form 1098 has principal amounts reported. These have no relevance for income tax purposes, so I would recommend not entering them into TurboTax.
