2024 W2 & 1099 Forms not available

2024 Turbo Tax Home & Business (Desktop) - W2 & 1099 Forms are still not available to be printed. What in the world could be the hold up with these simple forms?

Are you using "Create Forms" -- or are you using Quick Employer Forms?    If you use Quick Employer Forms it should work.

I am having the same issue and must ask why the forms would be available in the on-line version (quick forms you reference) vs. the desktop version.  For the price that we pay for this software, I expect these very simple forms that are due in 2 weeks to be available at the same time they are available on-line.  I like to do my 1099's on the desktop since that is where I will do my tax return.

So, I will ask what everyone else has asked.  Today is 1/13.  When can we expect the 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms to be ready for printing/filing on the desktop version of Turbo Tax for Business 2024?

I have been using TurboTax desktop for over 20 years to do W-2 and 1099 usually in the first week of January.

It's now the 13th. "Available Soon" is not an answer.

PLEASE FIX IT.

The original poster clearly stated that they were using 2024 Turbo Tax Home & Business (Desktop), as am I. It is NOT acceptable to respond that the forms are available in a different Turbo Tax product. Like the other people posting in this thread, I have made a very conscious choice to use the desktop version rather than any online version of Turbo Tax, and I do not wish to use an online product to produce the 1099-MISC forms I need to prepare. I purchased 2024 Turbo Tax Home & Business (Desktop) with the understanding that I WOULD be able to prepare my 1099-MISC forms this year as I have done in previous years. I have just updated the software and the forms are STILL not available on Jan. 13! What is the hold up??? When will the forms be available? We are required to mail them by January 31, and I, like the other business owners here, would like to get this task done ASAP. As it stands, Turbo Tax is making my job harder than it needs to be.

I am having the same problem !!  Turbo Tax for Business is a terrible product this year.  I have used it for years....but now its not so great.  It looks like I will have to go to Office Depot and buy the blank 1099 NEC forms and fill them out by hand.   I also bought the HR Block for business just to try it out.    It doesn't even have the 1099 NEC forms.....only the 1099 MISC forms.  so it is not much better.

It is already January 14, 2025. 2024 1099 – NEC forms must be sent out by the end of the month. Why are they not available yet for the desktop version? They should have been ready many months ago!

I have never purchased intuit business software before (desktop) and the 1099 forms are still not available as of 1.14.25.  Intuit you do realize these forms are due by the end of January.

Historically I have used payroll mate for 1099's but needed to process a business tax return that I normally do not need to prepare.    What a complete waste.

The TurboTax Desktop program is being updated. You can check back at the end of the week or as an alternative, you can go to this link, Quick Employer Forms, and use your TurboTax Account to log in and e-file from there.

It just feels like Intuit keeps trying to FORCE their clients to use their online version when a lot of us don't like their cloud versions, QB Online? Horrible, TurboTax Online? Horrible.. Why keep offering the desktop version of such software's if you don't plan on keeping a good service? It's January 15th and the Desktop version is still not up to date, and I WON'T be using TurboTax Online. Intuit better fix your product or simply start refunding every single client that has bought the Desktop version since is not providing the service that we are paying for!

@Smartie TurboTax software updates occur on the desktop and online editions on the same date.

See this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

That link shows the federals and state forms, schedules that can be included in a tax return.  It will not have any W-2 or 1099 forms.

There should be an update this week for entering W-2's and 1099's using the TurboTax desktop editions and the TurboTax Premium online edition.

Or you can use Quick Employer Forms here - https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/home

The response xmasbaby0 has uploaded does not apply to the TurboTax Home and Business product.  What is the point of purchasing this product if the necessary forms for filing are not going to be available and leave users subject to possible penalties.

I would hope that Turbo Tax will address this issue as soon as possible.

I have been in business 32 years. I transfer my employee/contractor file in from the previous year. Why in the WORLD would I use quick forms? Intuit needs to update the &^$% program, so I can print these off and be done with it. I have been reconciled and ready since Jan 2!

@CatinaT1  We don't WANT QUICK FORMS! FIX the PROGRAM!
