The where's my refund tool being updated this year but you can find your refund date on your account transcript. Now depending on your cycle code you could have already seen this update but if not most Americans are on a weekly cycle code and that updates overnight tonight. So regardless of what where is my refund says you should see an update on your transcript tomorrow with the direct deposit date
What is your source for that? Per the IRS:
A tax transcript will not help you find out when you’ll get your refund. The information transcripts have about your account does not necessarily reflect the amount or timing of your refund. They are best used to validate past income and tax filing status for mortgage, student and small business loan applications, and to help with tax preparation.

Also you don't order a transcript you go online to a created account on the IRS website and you can look at it
You're right sweetie Jean your tax transcript doesn't tell you anyting your account transcript does when you see code 846
You are commenting on an older thread. Do you have a specific question we can assist you with?
Yes, you can get a copy of your tax transcript from the IRS website. Order your transcript here at the IRS or by calling them toll-free at 1-800-908-9946.
So my transcript updated this morning and it shows code 846 with a date of 3/16/2022 does that mean we will get our refund that day? Our wmr still has no updates on it.
A transcript is not a good tool for determining your refund date. Please see the below TurboTax help article for more information.
Is it true that ordering a transcript will tell me when my refund is coming?
The best place to find information about the status of your tax return/refund would be on the IRS Where's My Refund? site. The site is updated daily usually in the evening hours. You can also call the WMR Hotline at 800-829-1954 for updated status. Please see the TurboTax FAQ When will I get my IRS refund? for more information.
Where does it tell you when your getting it at besides the 846 code?
Refund issued 06-27-22. When should I get a check in the mail?
@Loopdawg111 This is June 24----you are saying that your refund will be issued on June 27. We cannot tell you how many days it will take for the U.S. postal service to deliver the envelope to your mailbox since there are so many variables that may affect the delivery system. If your refund check is being mailed it will go by first class mail without any sort of tracking, so all you can do is watch your mailbox and open all mail---do not assume anything is junk mail without opening the envelope first.
@hgivens This is a very old thread. The user above had a question in June 2022. The date that a refund will be issued is provided on the IRS's refund site. And the IRS then cautions folks to allow up to five days for the refund to post to their accounts.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

That is false information. Every year I check my IRS transcript and my refund shows up just as it is stated within.
Yeah I know, I’ve heard that it’s on there. I have been checking mine & it is right!
You can check your refund date by checking the Where's My Refund tool, as soon as the IRS processes the return, they will update you when you will receive the refund. @camillemurphy
