The IRS will not officially begin accepting returns this year until January 27, 2020.

The electronic filing has just started last week, although they will not begin to accept returns until next week.

Returns that are e-filed in January will stay in Pending status until the IRS starts processing the backlog of returns.  We suggest checking the status again in a few days.

The status should update in approximately 24-48 hours but it could be longer until the IRS clears out the January backlog. For more information on a "pending" return status, please click here. The IRS estimates that most refunds will be sent within three weeks after your e-filed returns are accepted. Many refunds will come sooner. You can check the status of your refund by going to www.irs.gov/refunds. For more information, please click here.

I filed 1/25 it was rejected on 1/27, all for a wrong AGI which I’m fact was NOT WRONG! And now it is still Pending. This is so messed up!

Please review this link throughly for instructions on how to correct a rejected file, but shows as "pending"https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/return-status/help/turbotax-why-is-my-e-file-status-showing-as-pending-when-my-return-was-rejected/00/27223

The IRS began processing returns on January 27th. TurboTax will only show the status of returns, not refunds, such as when the return is actually accepted. Once it has been accepted, you can then use the link below to track the status of your return:

It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to update. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund?  tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.
