What does the topic 151 entitle?

Tax topic 151 relates to an offset. If you owe any type of debt to the government such as child support or student loans, they will take it out of your refund. This can slow things down. They'll send you a letter telling you who's collecting the debt. You can also appeal an offset.

It is not necessarily an offset, but just an adjustment due to an error..

I'm being told it's an offset for something I owe by some people and being told I'm being audited by others

They say it's for things like owing child support or students loans. I'm not on child support and I don't have any student loans so why did I get TT151?

@marieash12 yea I did check this morning about 3;45 it had tax topic 152 then I checked it at 4:20am it went to the 151 tax topic under review call it said no offset

@evetteadams24 yours changed from 152 to 151? What did it say when it was at 152?
