Waiting for my full refund

I’ve called 5 different phone numbers, tried reach the IRS as the one person from Turbo tax told me to do and I still don’t know when I will be receiving the rest of my refund ! I only received $999 out of my $ 2,859 through this new TBJ ! Which I also can’t reach . The number they provide is a joke. This is so stress inducing . If I would have known this would happen I would have stopped filling with TurboTax years ago. I was also unaware of this TBJ partnership . I really want straight forward answers and I need to know when I will be receiving the rest of my refund . I know I’m not the only one going through this .

You mean TPG?  If you pay with a credit card, you will avoid all the hassles and delays and also save the Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California).  Then your refund goes straight from the IRS directly to you.   No middleman or 3rd party bank.

If the IRS adjusted your refund for any reason, they will send a letter explaining the reason(s) why they made the adjustment.    That letter takes about 3 weeks to arrive.   Once you receive the letter, it will have contact information and steps to take if you disagree with their adjustments.    No one at TurboTax will be able to explain any of the changes made by the IRS and they (the IRS) will only discuss your tax return with you or someone you have designated on your tax return or Form 8821.

If you used Refund Processing (paid your TurboTax fees with your refund), your refund goes through a 3rd party bank (SBTPG).    They receive the refund (less any IRS adjustments), take out the TurboTax fees AND their processing fee, and remit the balance to you.    If there is a discrepancy with these amounts (the FEES), you can contact them or access your account with this link.

The 3rd party bank does not know the amount you filed for - all they know is what your TurboTax fees are and what their fee is.   They take those fees from whatever the IRS sends and remit to you, the balance.    Unfortunately, ONLY the IRS knows why they adjusted your original refund amount.    The letter will have contact information, a reference number and instructions on how to handle any disputed information.   But until you get the letter, you won't know for sure, what the adjustments were for.
