Turbo tax software glitch,

Hi

I just e-filed last week my 2021 tax return. I owed some money per Turbo tax  software. I scheduled to get that paid on 4/6/22.

NOW THE SURPRISE FROM THE IRS !!!!

I received a cp11 notice  indicating that i made an error in my return regarding RECOVERY REBATE CREDIT..

I reviewed my return.I found out somehow there was a number entered. I have no idea how it got there.

Assuming that it is my ERROR, here is what I am shocked about.

Recovery rebate credit has an income limit of74k.

Why the software did not recognize this entry and caution the user and  SAY THAT  THE ENTRY IS INCORRECT AND REJECT IT BY ADVISING THAT MY ENTRY IS INCORRECT SINCE MY AGI DOES NOT QUALIFY

IT DID NOT!!!I

Instead it moved on  and thus led to the error. I  had to correct it and pay a fine to the IRS and send a check for the balance.

THIS IS WRONG DUE TO SOFTWARE ERROR,I ENDED UP PAYING.

Therefore I feel Intuit should compensate me for this ERROR

HI

I got a call from a lady by name Latisha. She gave me the proverbial corporate line by saying that there is nothing wrong in the software.

I recommend you go ahead and answer  NO to the question whether you received any rebate checks last year.

If you say NO, it won't even check your AGI ( limit is 74K) and gets you into trouble. I ended up getting cp11 notification from the IRS and I had to pay $$ 1480 due to this error in the software.

Your software should take my AGI into consideration BEFORE deciding.
