Taxes wasn’t processed

I have mailed in my taxes for both state and federal along with a check for the balances . Both were cashed and I have a zero balance. The irs website shows my taxes weren’t processed. My checks were cashed on 04/05 of this year . Is there a delay for the paperwork to be processed and will I be notified when the paperwork is processed? I tried calling the irs number and the automated services are awful I can’t get to a representative:( .

Not sure what IRS site you are looking at to see if your return was processed.     Are you looking at your IRS online account?

https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

And...you mention "a check"---did you mail your state return to the state with a check made payable to the state?  The IRS has nothing to do with your state tax return.  The IRS processes your federal return; the state processes your state return.

You say that your check(s?) was cashed, so you need to hang on the the cancelled check as proof that you paid your tax due.

And..no, the IRS does not send you any paperwork  or notification to tell you that they processed your return.   If you filed and paid before the April 15 deadline you should be fine.

Sorry if I was all over the place. Yes I sent a check to federal address and the tax paperwork along . I sent a check for state and the paperwork to the other address. Yes I logged in to my account on the irs website and got this message. In my balance portion it shows the check was processed for federal.  That’s unfortunate they don’t give any notice . Do you know how long paper processing usually is? IRS makes me soo nervous this is the first time I ever owed state and federal

The IRS reports they only began processing April paper returns recently.   They say they process the paper returns with refunds first.
