My grandmother is a Senior that receives SSI benefits and my brother just filed on 4/14/2019 as Single (he was claimed as a dependent last year). The stimulus tracker indicates “Payment Status Not Available. According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.“ Is this final or does it update on a daily basis? Is there further action that you recommend we take to ensure they get a payment? All sources point to they should get a payment. Thank you in advance for any advice.
I filed as a Non-Filer via TurboTax on April 6th and it tells me the same thing.
CPA from TurboTax told me to wait a week and see what happens.
A news article I saw, while skimming through all of the ones with stimulus articles, mentioned that those who filed taxes in 2018/2019 could be paid first, while those who did not file taxes may get it after that. So it could be a few more days, or next week, for the non-filers who are just going in to get the stimulus check.
Your brother filed on 4/14/19 as single, so that means he was claimed as a dependent on the 2018 one? Or did you mean he just filed as single on 4/14/20 and put 19 by mistake? If it was that he just filed yesterday, there may be some issue with it.
So you may need to look more into his part. With luck, it is just a stall tactic by the IRS, and he'll get through before May.
Your grandmother should automatically get it, from all I've seen. It'll be posted direct deposit, or mailed as a check, however she gets her SSI.
