There is no efile fee of any kind when using the Online program ... the fee was for the use of the program to complete a return that can be filed even if it must be mailed in ... at no time was a successful efiling guaranteed.
I used Turbo tax CD. Since I need to file Form 4852, the Franchise Tax Board requires me to submit my return by mail. I already paid my State e-file fee. I have been trying to get my credit card payment back to me. It appears that all the answers going back to the preset website link.

I just e-filed my federal and state (NJ) taxes and I was charged $25 for the state e-filing. When I purchased Turbotax I had the understanding that one state e-filing would be free. Please refund the $25.

I just e-filed my federal and state (NJ) taxes and I was charged $25 for the state e-filing. Due to computer issues I was unable to file on line, had to mail, however, when I purchased Turbotax I had the understanding that one state e-filing would be free. Please refund the $25.
Wondering if you qualify for a refund? It could depend on which product you’re using.
Read more to learn if you qualify, and we’ll be happy to help.

Buyer Beware - do not e-file your state taxes. If the filing fails you will not get a refund of your monies. I tried to figure out the problem information it said was incorrect, made changes and tried multiple changes and resent multiple times and it continued to fail. After six times trying I changed the filing to mail in return. There is a disconnect between the IRS the State of CA and TT. It may work for other states but why take that chance. Save your $25.00 and go through the manual process of mailing your state tax returns.
I filed my Taxes yesterday, and was prompted to file State Taxes, which I then completed and filed.
However, not realizing I live in Florida and so don't pay State Taxes.
Therefore, can you please cancel the State tax filing and refund me the necessary fee that I paid.
Many thanks
Carol Klotz
I'm sorry but, there is no way to cancel a return once it has been transmitted.
@carolklotztt
I paid the $25 to e-file my state return, then when I couldn't e-file I printed the return and sent it to my state by snail mail. I now want my $25 back the order number was TTDCDLA191173738
Thank you
