School district refund rejected

i have not lived in the school district i’m in for the full year and it is telling me my school district refund was rejected, but gives me no option to fix it. i did exactly what the app had told me to do when it came to filing for the school district so what do i do now??

Try these steps:

  1. Go back to the Ohio return and revisit the "School District taxes".
  2. On the "Your school district taxes" screen, revisit applicable school districts verifying the dates of residency (to and from) has been entered. Also verify the correct Ohio modified adjusted gross income has been entered.   Because you lived in more than one school district, you will need to allocate your income to each school district according to your days of residency. The sum of all school districts cannot exceed your modified adjusted gross income less exemptions.
  3. Continue through the Ohio return, run through review fixing any errors, and resubmit the school district return.

Since you have already filed your returns for OH and federal - you can't file OH without the federal - you will need to amend for the w2 not yet received along with any other forms still to come. When you amend, you will be able to correct those city taxes.

Don't file an amended return until everything is settled with the original returns. See:
